POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

What to know before you book:

Reschedules + Cancellations

Clients can cancel or reschedule their own appointments online up to 24 hours before the start of the session, using the Square Go app or the link in your confirmation email. Please do not text or email me to cancel or reschedule your appointment - please only reach out to me if it is less than 24 hours out and you have an illness or emergency that prevents you from making your appointment.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a fee of 50% of the price of the session for the first incident, and prepayment will be required for future appointments. Subsequent incidents will be charged at the full rate.

Lateness + No Call/No Shows

Please aim to arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time to allow for intake, restroom usage, and undressing. For first time clients, please arrive 10 minutes early so we can do a full intake and still utilize your full session time!

If you’re going to be late for your appointment, please let me know ASAP! Clients who arrive late may lose time from their session, which will still be charged at the full rate. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your session with no notice, it’s considered a no-show and the appointment will be cancelled and the full price will be charged. After two no call/no shows, you will no longer be able to book with me :(

Intake, Medical Information, and Confidentiality

Your intake form will be emailed to you when you book; please have this completed at least one day before your session so I have time to review it beforehand. Please be thorough when filling out this form - medications, prior injuries/surgeries, and health conditions are important for me to know and may affect the type, length or structure of the session.

Your medical information is confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your consent, including lawyers, insurance companies and healthcare providers.

Any personal information shared in the studio is confidential, but please remember that I am a mandated reporter and any information indicative of abuse or suspected abuse or self-harm will be reported as required by law.

Scope of Practice

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania. I am not a doctor, physical therapist, or mental health professional! I am licensed to provide structured, therapeutic touch to address the soft tissues of the body. Though bodywork may have far-reaching effects beyond this intent, I am not qualified to diagnose or treat specific medical or mental conditions, and I cannot prescribe exercises, supplements, or medications. If I feel that your needs are beyond my scope, I will be glad to refer you to a medical professional that can address your needs. Depending on the issues you present with, you may be asked to obtain permission or diagnosis from a qualified healthcare provider before receiving bodywork from me.

Consent + Boundaries

My practice is entirely consent-based; receiving bodywork is an excellent way to practice giving and rescinding consent, as well as setting boundaries. Pre-session intake is a great time to discuss which parts of your body you are and are not comfortable receiving work on, but that consent can always be revoked during the session. If you have trauma that you feel may impact your session, feel free to let me know that certain areas or actions may be triggering for you - no need to disclose specific reasons why!

During an average session, I may work on anything from the glutes, inner thighs, feet, face, and scalp. I will always obtain consent before touching any client’s abdomen and black women’s hair. Breasts and genitals will be properly draped at all times, and I do not do pelvic floor or intra-oral work.

Everything ranging from the pressure and techniques applied, to the temperature, music, and lighting can be adjusted to your comfort. If there is anything I can do either before or during the session to make you even 5% more comfortable, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

Harassment

As previously stated, I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. I do not date clients, and I am not a sex worker. Discussion of intimate topics is never appropriate in a bodywork setting, and any interactions or behavior that make me feel uncomfortable will not be tolerated. If such issues arise, the session will be ended immediately and you will not be allowed to book again.
